[PRECEDENT STUDY]
|
|||||
| This
group light study project tested teamwork and leadership skills. Students
were given two weeks to research and document the assigned builing and
construct a large scale model to show how the design addressed the issue
of light.
I was chosen as the leader of my team and thrown into the fire of scheduling and supervising my teammates to make sure the model was finished on time. In building the main hall of the building, we decided to start from the inside and build out. The interior arched walls with pilasters were constructed first, followed by the trusses that would support the roof and tie the two sides together. From there, the rest of the wall system was erected, culminating in the roof and skylight structure. As a final part of the exercise, students were also required to construct an interior perspective and render the drawing in graphite. |
